Deploying solutions to remove difficulties for export and import activities in the context of Covid-19 epidemic

​The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued Directive No. 05 / CT-BCT dated February 26, 2020 to implement measures to increase exports and imports in the context of the Covid-19 translation.

Accordingly, the Covid-19 epidemic had a negative impact on the supply of imported raw materials for production for domestic consumption and export production.

In order to take initiative in the supply of raw materials for domestic production and export, contributing to ensure export growth according to the assigned targets, The Ministry of Industry and Trade requires subordinate units to implement solutions to remove difficulties for export and import activities.

They actively work with industry associations, corporations, corporations, FDI enterprises to evaluate production and export activities; propose solutions to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the concerned ministries and branches to remove difficulties in production and export activities; clear goods flows.

They study and evaluate the export growth of Vietnam's goods to offset export declines due to the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic, paying special attention to taking advantage of the preferential effects brought by the Trade Agreement Vietnam - EU freedom (EVFTA).

They monitor and update information regularly related to disease situation, production and trade activities in the Chinese market, especially for agricultural products; collaborate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to continue promoting market opening negotiations for agricultural products.

They work with Textile, Footwear, Mechanics, Electronics, and Chemical Associations to capture information about domestic raw material supply capacity, import demand, problems in real estate activities business; propose solutions to find alternative raw materials in the context of importing from the Chinese market with many difficulties.

The study proposes measures to develop domestic supporting industries, diversify import markets, and avoid dependence on the supply of raw materials in a market.

They support Vietnamese enterprises who wish to import medical equipment and supplies in connection with capable foreign enterprises; find information about foreign partners who are researching and testing new materials in the production of medical equipment and supplies; provide information for Vietnamese businesses to study the possibility of replacing existing materials.

Heads of units according to their assigned functions and tasks must identify key and urgent tasks; focus on directing and organizing the drastic, regular and continuous implementation.

At the same time, they must actively take initiative in implementing or promptly proposing to the Ministry leaders to consider and direct the implementation of new measures to effectively cope with Covid-19.
