Ensuring goods while “social isolation”
On March 31, Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade Vo Dinh Tra said that the Department worked with the supply units including: Coopmart Supermarket, Vinmart system and general agents, convenience stores in the province area. These units are committed to ensuring the supply of basic necessities and essential goods to serve the people.
In extraordinary cases, these businesses also pledged not to have goods shortages within 24 hours.
At the same time, the Industry and Trade sector has built a plan to ensure goods and necessities for people in all situations, including the contingency plan for stockpiling and supplying food and essential foodstuffs such as rice, poultry, dry food, and specific commodities such as medical masks, antibacterial masks, antibacterial hand sanitizers, meeting the demand of people during "social isolation" under the Prime Minister's Directive.
The Prime Minister has just issued Directive No. 16/CT-TTg on the implementation of urgent measures to prevent and combat COVID-19 epidemic. Accordingly, the country will implement the social isolation within 15 days from 0:00 on 1 April 2020 on a national scale.
Minister - Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dzung affirmed that the implementation of "social isolation” is not a blockade or ban, but a measure to coping with the development of the epidemic.
Dzung also added that essential stores where supplying essential goods for people such as markets, supermarkets, and medicine shops still open and ensure normal operation of supplying goods to the local people.
