Quang Ngai ranked in good group on food safety management of agro-forestry-fishery products in 2019

Hanoi is the top in the ranking list in 2019 and followed by the provinces of Bac Lieu, Nam Dinh and Can Tho.

The results of 2018 have encouraged localities to further  improve food safety management which saw many provinces in the lower tier making breakthroughs, typically Quang Ngai province.

In 2018, 16 out of 63 provinces and cities ranked good in food safety management while 45 others were said to meet requirements on food safety management.

Dong Thap and Bình Dương provinces were the only provinces in the country not to be ranked, as they failed to hand in relevant documents to the MARD.

The rankings have been implemented annually by the MARD since 2015. They are based on the direction and management of food safety, advocacy, education, dissemination and education aiming to raise people’s awareness on law implementation; inspections and handling of violations in food safety; strengthening the management of food safety; and the development of safe food supply chains.
