Quang Ngai with the target to receive more than 1.2 million tourists in 2020

​In 2019, the tourism sector of Quang Ngai province has welcomed more than 1.14 million visitors with the revenue of VND 1,100 billion, an increase of 14% compared to the previous year; including 99,000 international visitors, an increase of 15% over last year.

Ly Son island district is still the most attractive place with 265,000 visitors, the revenue is over VND 317 billion. With the diverse potential of sea and island tourism culture, many other tourist destinations are also exploited by travel companies with many attractive tours such as Ganh Yen, Sa Huynh, etc.

“Quang Ngai province has geological resources, especially the unique sea volcano. Based on these resources, Quang Ngai province is now carrying out procedures and documents to recognize the Global Geopark for Ly Son island district and surrounding areas, including some communes of Binh Son district, Quang Ngai city”, said Mrs. Huynh Thi Phuong Hoa - Deputy Director of Quang Ngai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Mrs. Hoa also said that, along with improving the quality of services, human resources, localities are enhancing the promotion, attracting investment resources and exploiting the potential of sea and island tourism, especially Ly Son – Sa Huynh Geological Park and surrounding areas.
