Situation of fishing catch in Quang Ngai province

​Quang Ngai province has totally 5,573 fishing boats, with a total capacity of 1,849,289 HP.

The total number of laborers, who directly involved in production at sea, is about 37,968 people, of which local workers 30,375 people account for 80%. Workers outside the province are about 7,593 people account for about 20%.

However, most of the laborers working in aquatic resources exploitation are low level, so the use of modern equipment and new technology models often face difficulties and awareness.

The understanding of legal regulations is limited, and compliance with regulations on fishing is not high.

The team of captains and chief engineers is mainly trained in the form of short-term training, lacking the basic knowledge to be able to use modern equipment and related maritime knowledge.
